Yanchep is an easy 45 min drive north of Perth ad it has a beautiful lagoon and wonderful beaches. Capricorn beach and housing development is just north of the lagoon. The lookout over Capricorn beach is a great place to view the whole coastline, and it was exciting to send up the drone to get a look over the whole reef. It’s not advisable to put it up above all the swimmers on the lagoon, so we went further afield to do it.

Learnings from this video:

1. The automatic Quickshots resolution is only 1080p, rather than 4K, so the special effects images are too small silly in the rest of the 4K video. We have discovered that this can only be changed when the drone is flying, but we have yet to find out whether changing it once will keep the default for next time.

2. Trying to compress more footage into less time by speeding it up (much of the sweeping beach vistas are at 300% of the original speed), makes it all feel a bit too hectic and rushed. We don’t want to bore you forever, but it does feel a bit manic…

3. As with the other videos from this same day, the action cam needs to be set to 16:9 instead of 4:3 so that it fits in with the rest too.
